THE BOOKS

Memoirs of an Educarer

ISBN 9781461127222

This book was written to inspire parents, students, paraprofessionals, teachers, and administrators. Tanya R. Liverman brings an inspiring, revolutionary perspective to education. She uses experience and poetry to encourage workers in education to raise the bar. "Memoirs of an Educarer" approaches concerns in the classroom using poetry and sound advice in keeping the goals student-centered. The preface, written by Mr. Carlton Ashby, defines what Educarers are.

Included in this book is "Why You Were Sent", which was the passionate poem that inspired her article, "Teachers: Don't Stop Believing," published in the April 2011 issue of the "Virginia Journal of Education", the Virginia Education Association's official magazine.

The essence of this book is to help others understand the importance of their actions and inaction, and how these behaviors affect our students. The beginning addresses common issues in the classroom and she shared successful methods that resolved them. The middle of the book is poetry written for and dedicated to each role in education. The last few chapters disclose the vision and implementation of her after-school club Tanya founded, G.I.R.L.S. with P.E.A.R.L.S. Included are excerpts written by two students, who expressed what the club meant to them and one excerpt written by a special education teacher who wrote about how the club helped a particular student transition to high school. After reading this book, educators will be compelled to try new methods to rejuvenate their career and create a learning environment that goes beyond the classroom experience.

ISBN-13: 978-1497496637

Soar with Native American author, Tanya R. Liverman as she unveils her deepest thoughts about faith and culture in this inspirational, extended lyric book, based on her spoken word album, Reflections from the Soul. Her writings are in response to a burning question of her past, “Can I be Indian and serve God without compromise?” In the poem “Reflections from the Soul,” Tanya shares her Native American heritage as she takes you back to when she was a child, judged by her looks, and how she struggled with her identity. She describes the way her people survived and continue to claim their bloodline, leaving a priceless legacy.

"It will not only educate, but also be a source of comfort and healing for many of our people who have struggled with issues of identity in a society hostile to the truth of who we are."

~Pastor John Norwood

Coming 2016

Every woman should get this set. Tanya's ability to relate to almost every woman in this project is impeccable. Many women who will read In The Mirror and listen to the accompanying CD, orchestrated with LIVE music by international musicians Winston Byrd and David Sampson, will be captured by the way they see themselves through someone else's words.

Tanya does not define women, but her work speaks to women so clearly as her words paint a picture, a story of their lives. From negative women, to women who are not satisfied with their images, to women who find themselves and recognize who they are, to women who were abused, and to biological and adoptive mothers, In The Mirror inspires, encourages, and gives hope to them all.
